Here are statistics and approximate
letter-grade conversions for the midterm test.
- March 10, around 5:25pm:
All the midterm tests are marked, and will be returned in
lecture sections tomorrow, March 11.
Solutions can be found via this
midterm solutions index page.
Statistics on student scores and a rough guide to
letter grades will be posted by early next week.
- March 9, around 6:40pm:
The Due Date for Lab 7 has been extended until 3:30pm,
Friday, March 12.
Because that is later than the original Late Due Date,
there will no longer be a Late Due Date.
- Update, Feb. 23, around 8:50pm:
Information about
midterm test location, format, and topic coverage
is available, and now has complete
test location information.
- Feb. 10, around 3:00pm:
The midterm test for both sections
will take place from 6:30pm to 8:00pm on Monday, March 1.
This decision is final.
Information about the location of the test will appear here
within a few days.
Please let your lecture instructor know as soon as
possible if that conflicts with any other academic
requirement you have—we can make arrangements to have you
write a midterm at a different time.

Feb. 6, around 3:50pm:
We have a tentative plan to run the
midterm test for both sections
from 6:30pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
- Feb. 6, around 2:00pm:
We are trying to schedule the midterm test
for an evening in the week of Feb. 22-26 or
the week of Mar. 1-5.
We hope to announce the date early next week.
(We had originally planned
for March 3 but had to change plans after
discovering that many students have tests
in other courses that day.)
- Lecture periods start on Tuesday, January 12.
- There will be no lab or tutorial periods on
Monday, January 11.
Labs and tutorial periods will start Monday, January 18.
