If you've already read the background information and instructions, you can jump to the list of packaged directories.
My view is that for downloading files using a good FTP client is more efficient than using a Web browser. Using FTP also allows you to access your home directory for both downloads and uploads. To access the ENEL Linux system FTP server, make a connection to
remote-a.enel.ucalgary.caand log in with your username and password.
However, Web-based downloading is simpler than FTP, and is also convenient for somebody who is interested in the course material but who does not have an ENEL Linux account.
To download a directory, do a ``shift-left-click'' (hold down the Shift key and click with the left mouse button). You will then have to complete a dialog to tell the browser where to store the downloaded file. After the file has been downloaded, you will have to extract the directory from the archive.
On Windows, you will need a zip utility to extract the files; two well-known zip utilities can be downloaded from www.winzip.com and www.pkware.com.
If you're running Linux and don't yet know how to extract files from a tar.gz archive, it's time to learn--any decent Unix guidebook will cover this topic.
This list was generated at Sun Dec 3 15:17:08 2000; the zip and tar.gz archives were generated a few moments earlier.
