BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING SPECIALIZATION
This unique, faculty-wide program integrates the study of complex living systems with engineering principles. Healthcare is being revolutionized by this burgeoning, multidisciplinary field.
Chemical engineers contribute to exciting developments in: stem cell bioengineering; bioprocess engineering where biological products are prepared for commercial use; and tissue engineering that involves the restoration, enhancement or maintenance of tissues and organ function.
Students take specialized courses including cell biology, anatomy and physiology; participate in an internship; and complete a supervised research thesis.
